Our Son sat out on a levee across the street from our country home a few years ago and video the geese in the field. We moved here in 1993 and that year we were flooded in and the fields around us were filled with thousands of geese, the most beautiful sight and sound we had ever seen and we were hooked! Every year it became a special family thing to watch for the first geese to come in for the fall. As this winter as cold as we have been, there were no geese in the fields and we found ourselves feeling cheated in away not having our beautiful natural entertainment. After waiting a few months for the geese to take over the fields. This year for Christmas we purchased geese decoys and planted them in the front yard to mark a memory for us we have become so accustomed to share each winter. Then today as I was searching through digital pictures I discovered a video Donavan had done back in the winter of 2007-08 of one of the fields filled with happy geese! Bringing back memories and reminding me how quickly time passes and how quickly things can change. Even coming to the realization how things may not stay the same. Cherishing little things even like walking along our country roads with our sons just to listen to the sounds of happy geese can mean the most in our hearts. We are not promised tomorrow nor that these things we cherish may return. If you really think about it in life it is the little things that we value the most. Even finding a little 38 second lost video done by a 14 year old boy.
